7. External Scientific Advisory Panel

Our External Scientific Advisory Panel acts as a source of independent advice to the NIHR CLAHRC for Yorkshire and Humber on our applied research and knowledge implementation activities, with regard to the scientific quality, the scope, sustainability, networking and impact.

1. Purpose
To act as a source of independent advice to the NIHR CLAHRC for Yorkshire and Humber on our applied research and knowledge implementation activities, with regard to the scientific quality, the scope, sustainability, networking and impact.

2 Duties/responsibilities
  • The Panel has the following duties
  • To provide advice to the CLAHRC on documents related to our activities
  • To provide advice on the strategic direction and planning for the future of NIHR 
    CLAHRC YH.
  • To provide advice on how we can have an impact on policy at a regional, national and international level.
  • To provide advice on the strategic development of the CLAHRC activities including horizon scanning and foresight.
3. Working Methods
  • The Director will manage the advisory process to ensure that each of the advisors is 
    consulted at least annually for their advice. This consultation where possible will be 
    facilitated through video conferencing.
  • The Panel’s advice will be reported to the NIHR CLAHRC Strategic Board and Executive 
    Group.
  • Advice given by the Panel members will be made available to all members of NIHR 
    CLAHRC YH
  • Panel Members will be given the opportunity to run master classes for NIHR CLAHRC YH*
