Meet the team Professor Kate Pickett and Sarwat Shah will work with themes and individual project staff to help them understand the impact of their work programme on health inequalities. We can provide input at any operational stage through grant writing and design, recruitment, measurement, intervention and follow-up. Strategies are various and projects-specific. They involve identification of potentially vulnerable groups, monitoring of a concern, help with re-design, and advice on equality of measurement. Health Inequalities Lead: Professor Kate Pickett Professor of Epidemiology in the Department of Health Sciences at the University of York who is an internationally renowned researcher in this field. http://www.york.ac.uk/healthsciences/our-staff/kate-pickett/ Health Inequalities Adviser: Sarwat Shah Research Fellow with specific interests in quantitative methods mainly involving randomised trials of public health interventions related to tobacco and lung health, and the health of Muslim ethnic minorities in the UK. https://www.york.ac.uk/healthsciences/our-staff/sarwat-shah/ |
