Move More

The National Centre for Sport & Exercise Medicine (NCSEM) is an Olympic Legacy Project, originally funded by a £30 million grant from the Department of Health to Sheffield, Loughborough (East Midlands) and UCH/UCL (London) centres.

NCSEM resources now include: NHS clinical and research facilities in three community leisure centres across Sheffield; a programme of conferences and seminars that bring together researchers with common interests to stimulate and support collaboration; a network of active researchers nationally and regionally in the field of physical activity and health.

NCSEM Sheffield is a partner in NIHR CLAHRC YH and we have a number of joint projects completed, underway or planned.  A recent study with CLAHRC YH explored the analysis of physical activity in people with chronic conditions using the NIHE CLAHRC YH Yorkshire Health Study.

For more information about the NCESM’s work with CLAHRC please contact Liddy Goyder, PHHI Theme lead.
