Better Births by Design

The Royal College of Midwives (RCM) Better Births Initiative, in collaboration with NIHR CLAHRC Yorkshire and Humber and Lab4Living at Sheffield Hallam University, have been working with teams from Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust and Colchester Hospital University NHS Foundation Trust.

This work has been implementing participatory design approaches in maternity care for service improvement. Over the last 5 months, the teams have taken part in workshops, with mentoring and training supporting active projects in the Trust.

This seminar is a chance to hear from the teams and contribute to the discussion on how codesign is an essential for improving experiences, and how we can all contribute to improving the care and experience of Women and their families.

This project is being evaluated by Bangor University with the Chief Investigator Prof Chris Burton.
